Unlike their competitors, they were able to offer a product that offers a completely different experience and is aimed at everyone, as Apple knows how to do so well. This is the problem with VR headsets today, is that the target is too gamer or sometimes, rarely business, but they have not reached the general public. Current VR headsets allow you to play games of average quality or to perform actions that are limited, limiting and which are socially questionable since you are perfectly isolated despite Meta's depressing proposition with the metaverse.
Apple arrives here with a product which, in my opinion, sweeps away the others and will perhaps be led in a few years to completely dethrone the iPhone and the Macbook (as the iPhone had dethroned the iPod). I think it will even change the way we consume content. As a web developer, I think for example that the design of websites, e-commerce sites for example, will be completely revised, this will perhaps be the end of internet navigation as we know it today: perhaps more even more application oriented (as is starting to be the case). In any case it's interesting, exciting and I can't wait to also see the response from the competition, who will have to revise their VR products to reach a wider audience and not get their butts kicked by the big apple.
